LittleLeaf comes out of years spent helping companies prove their sustainability claims — and seeing, again and again, the same missing piece: everyone can now report their emissions, but almost no one has a practical way to reduce the AI part of them.
The founder
Scott is the Founder & CEO of Speeki, an ISO 17021-1 accredited ESG assurance and certification body operating across 100+ countries, where he works every day at the intersection of sustainability, governance, and AI.
A lawyer by training, he was Associate General Counsel at Sun Microsystems and General Counsel for Asia-Pacific at Hitachi Data Systems before founding The Red Flag Group, a global risk and compliance intelligence firm he built from 2006 and sold to the London Stock Exchange Group in 2020. He is a Lead Auditor across environmental, energy, and AI management standards — the same frameworks companies are now measured against.
Why we built LittleLeaf
Certifying and assuring sustainability claims for a living gives you a clear view of where companies get stuck. They invest heavily in measuring their footprint and in disclosure. But when it comes to actually reducing it, most of the footprint lives upstream — in supply chains and grids they can only nudge slowly and at great cost.
AI is different. It is one of the few sources of emissions a company can influence directly and immediately — it happens inside their own walls, by their own people, in tools they already manage. Yet no one was giving those people a signal at the one moment that matters: as they write the prompt.
So we built the signal. A small leaf, right where the work happens, that turns an invisible cost into an obvious, improvable one — and makes the greener choice also the cheaper and better one.
What we're building toward
A world where the lower-impact prompt is simply the obvious one — greener, cheaper, and more useful — so that reducing the environmental cost of AI is something every organisation can do, starting today, with something genuinely in their control.
